John's 2017 first batch of 500 in UK Himalayan.

Meet John's 2017 RE Himalayen.
It's the first REH that QB Bikes sold and it's also one of the first batch of 500 bikes that were imported into the UK. So it makes it an interesting bike already.

Somewhere in Wales... an Elan Valley byway knowing our John.

Ludlow Vineyard byway and a broken shoe

Headed towards Ditton Priors and then onto signs for Tugford. Picked up signs for Ludlow 8 miles and followed that lane. I came across this cheeky byway.

Looks like it had just been cleared of bracken not long ago.

There is a nice water section about a foot deep and 15 metres long. The REH coasted through with no drama.

Comes out by a gate to someones property, turned around though and went back through. Word.

When I got to Ludlow I found out my riding boot soul had come away. Haha.
Broken Shoe!

Dave's back. This time with a RE Himalayan.

Lovely bike to ride whether on road or off road.
Running in is a bit of a pain as you are not supposed to go above 3000rpm for the first 300miles. That increases to 4000rpm up to 1000miles on the clock and then it's deemed ready for full throttle usage!
I have read that the engine finally loosens up around the 1500 miles mark.

I have already completed 400 miles in 2 days riding from brand new. First service is booked in a couple of days.

First impressions:
Feels solid, durable and very forgiving, particularly when trail riding. I just left it in 2nd gear and it chugged through rough terrain no problems. On the really tricky stuff I used 1st gear and the power doesn't snatch at all. It feeds in nicely and you can really feel the traction you get.

The suspension is perfectly set up for this bike. At home on the road under load out of a corner or tackling off road conditions.

It's hard to say which it's better at, on road or off road. It really is a 50/50 split in my opinion.
Adventure bikes tend to be slightly biased to either road or trail, but the REH is right down the middle. The perfect all rounder.

They'll be folk who'll whinge about the 24bhp. Look, its adequate. You can only do 70mph in the UK anyway, what's the problem?
Besides, the torque is so nice from tick-over. You can just short shift your way up through the gears, leave it in 5th gear and just cruise. I found it would go as low as 30mph in 5th gear and not labour at all.
People have forgotten how to plod along and actually enjoy the journey.
This bike will help you do just that.
